Blooms on 23: A Unique Location for Family Photos in Northern Colorado
If you’re looking for a family photo location that feels a little different from the traditional Colorado mountain backdrop, Bloom 23 is officially one of my new favorite options.
Located just outside Windsor, Colorado, this private property combines a beautifully styled greenhouse, flower stand and outdoor spaces that include seasonal flowers, all in one location. Plus, for the kiddos a few sweet farm animals they can feed - which really, really makes this a fun family experience.
I recently had the opportunity to photograph here and I knew immediately that I wanted to add Blooms on 23 as an optional location for my family photography sessions.
A Family Photo Location With Tons of Variety
One of my favorite things about photographing families at Blooms on 23 is the variety.
Instead of driving between locations, we can move around the property and create completely different looks throughout your session.
The farmhouse gives us a warm, cozy feel. The flower stand adds color and personality. Then we can step outside for natural light, greenery and more open images.
For families, that means a gallery that feels varied without spending a big portion of your session traveling from one place to another.
An Indoor Option for Colorado Family Photos
And can we talk about Colorado weather?
As a Colorado photographer, I am constantly watching the forecast. Sunshine can turn into clouds, wind or an afternoon storm incredibly quickly. And, y’all… it is an El Nino year. Which means weather has been a contender for my attention and caused some reschedules!
Having access to a beautiful indoor space gives us something I don't have at most of my outdoor locations: OPTIONS!
We can create gorgeous natural-light images indoors and then move outside when the weather cooperates. It's also a great option for families who want a cozy look without committing to a traditional photography studio.
A Different Look From the Colorado Mountains
I LOVE photographing families along the trails of Boulder and against our Colorado mountain views. Those locations aren't going anywhere.
But not every family wants mountains for every photo session.
Blooms on 23 gives us something completely different: flowers, farmhouse details, texture, color and a cozy country feel.
It's especially beautiful if you've already done mountain family photos and want your next gallery to have an entirely different look.

The location upgrade is $150 and is added to your selected family photography package. This covers access to the private property for your session.
Because Blooms on 23 is a private location, availability does need to be coordinated in advance.
